Why should I choose a wool felt dog bed for my dog?
Not only is wool an incredibly comfy natural material, it's got all kinds of great properties which make it a fantastic thing to make a pet bed out of.
Not only is wool cosy, it's naturally antibacterial , this means bacteria struggle to grow inside of it, so it doesn't harbour odours. It's a sustainable material that naturally holds carbon, plus with this particular wool dog bed, all of the sheep's wool is ethically sourced directly from the farmer, with the farmer being paid a fair price for their wool. It's also a wonderful natural insulator whilst still being breathable, meaning it's great at regulating temperature.
By purchasing a British wool product you'll also be helping support British farmers!
How can I reduce my dogs carbon paw print?
Unbelievably an average dog produces approximately 770 kg of carbon per year - similar to a small petrol car. A slightly unbelievable amount! Dogs seem to produce a very significant amount of carbon dioxide taking into account things like their eating habits and product needs. This means they're directly contributing to the increasing amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere, as well as things like the greenhouse effect.
However, as their owner there are steps you can take to minimise your dogs effect on the environment. One of the steps you can take is to make eco-friendly choices for them when it comes to the products they need. Reduce their carbon paw print by making swaps in the name of sustainability. For some inspiration why not browse our range of natural products for pets? An easy first step is something as simple as reducing your pets reliability on plastic by swapping out their synthetic collars and leads for something more natural. You see, like-for-like swaps can be as simple as that, and when you make a few they really add up!
